Baofeng Lake is also called Treasure-Peak Lake, located in Wulingyuan town, not far from Zhangjiajie national forest park.
Baofeng Lake is an artificial lake, fresh water reservoir & water sources for local town people. Covers an area of 30 hectares with average depth 72 meters, and the deepest point going to be 120 meters. The water here is fresh and clean, with lots of fishes, especially the giant salamander, local people call it baby fish as a nick name.
Take a boat in Baofeng Lake is a great experience, as you can enjoy the quiet and peaceful moment, surrounded by the mountain peaks which looks like standing in the water. Also there are local minority boy & girl sing their folk songs in the lake.
At the gate area of Baofeng Lake, there is a wonderful waterfall where you can take lots of photos. And if you like hiking, you can climb from a narrow stairs way, up to Baofeng ancient temple.
