Dehang means beautiful valley, it’s a Miao minority village lies in Aizhai town where located in Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture of Hunan Province. In the middle way between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang Ancient Town.
It sits in the bottom of Aizhai bridge, and surrounded by mountains peaks, terraced fields and lush forests. The houses are well-preserved, women are washing clothes, men are ploughing in the fields, chicken and ducks are paddling in the river.
On the way to the village, you will see the Aizhi bridge. It’s a suspension bridge with a span of 1,176 meters, and fall of 400 meters. It connects the two sides as express way, the most prominent of its kind in the world.
Walking in the village, you will enjoy their unique minority culture, like folk songs, wild dance, and drum performance. If you like hiking, you can walk about 1 hour to see a high mountain waterfall which is called flying sand waterfall. And there is a mysterious place called heaven asking platform, as a worship place for local people.
